THE SHOW MUST GO ON: IAKHIHSOHTHA TOTAS ENJOY AFTERNOON OF MUSIC & FUN
On Friday, August 14, Iakhihsohtha Lodge residents enjoyed an afternoon of music, laughter and good company at the Snye Recreation Center. The totas tapped their toes and sang along as talented Akwesasró:non performers shared their voices and filled the room with smiles. Family and friends also joined in the fun, while everyone enjoyed delicious snacks, including pie, along with coffee and tea served by the ladies at the Snye Recreation Center.
While the afternoon’s plans took an unexpected turn and Elvis wasn’t able to make an appearance, Akwesasró:non community members quickly stepped up to help keep the music going. Their generosity and willingness to share their talents made for a memorable afternoon for the totas.
A special niawenhkó:wa goes out to the Iakhihsohtha staff for organizing the event, Sharlan Anderson for providing the karaoke, all of the singers who participated, and the Snye Recreation Center for their warm hospitality. Thank you to everyone who helped make the afternoon so special!
It was an afternoon filled with music, laughter and connection — a special day made even better by the people who came together to share it.
