LEARN TO FISH AKWESASNE

The MCA Environment Program is inviting all Akwesasró:non to participate in Learn to Fish Akwesasne — a free, two-day hands-on learning experience for individuals and families interested in fishing, environmental stewardship, and traditional knowledge! 

Dates: July 8–9, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: 1020 River Road (Riverfront), Tsi Snaihne 

Participants will learn about: 

• Shoreline fishing techniques
• Lure-making and knot tying
• Fish filleting and smoking demonstrations
• Fish species identification with a Kanien'kehá:ka educator
• …and more! 

Lunch will be provided each day and prizes are available for participants!
