MCA ATTENDS QUARTERLY MEETING WITH CORNWALL COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

On Tuesday, September 23, the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) participated in a quarterly meeting with the Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) to engage in meaningful discussions on shared priorities, and opportunities for collaboration.

The meeting provided a space to address current health care issues and strengthen the ongoing partnership between MCA and CCH. Key topics included the hospital’s continued support of having an Akwesasne representative on its Board of Directors, emergency room wait times, and the use of digital tools such as the MyChart app to improve patient access to health information.

Discussions also touched on the ongoing shortages of health care professionals and the importance of exploring joint strategies to help address workforce challenges in both communities.

MCA values its continued partnership with Cornwall Community Hospital, recognizing the importance of working together to enhance health care services and improve access to care for Akwesasronon.
