A COMMUNITY MESSAGE OF SUPPORT

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne extends its heartfelt condolences following the recent loss of a beloved member of our community.  

We recognize that this loss is being felt deeply throughout Akwesasne. At this time, we ask everyone to approach the situation with compassion and kindness, and to respect the privacy of the family and loved ones as they grieve. 

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the first responders and all those who assisted during this difficult situation. We are grateful for their compassion, professionalism, and care during an incredibly challenging time. 

We encourage community members to check in with one another, reach out to those who may be struggling, and seek support when it is needed.

Out of respect for the family, MCA will not be sharing any additional information. We believe families should have the opportunity to determine when and how the passing of their loved one is shared publicly.
