MCA CONFIRMS NO AFFILIATION WITH FIRST NATIONS NATIONAL GUARDIANS NETWORK

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) is aware of recent media reports regarding the First Nations National Guardians Network and serious allegations involving the misappropriation of funds.

MCA confirms that this organization is not affiliated with, authorized by, or connected to the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne in any way, and that no financial relationship exists. MCA has not issued any payments to the First Nations National Guardians Network or its representatives, nor has it received any funding from them.

Although an address within the Ontario portion of Akwesasne has been publicly associated with this organization, it has been verified that this was a privately rented space from a community member. The organization was not registered with the MCA, and none of its board members are Akwesasronon.

This group does not involve MCA operations, programs, or governance.

MCA strongly reminds all Akwesasronon who operate or host businesses within MCA jurisdiction to ensure their businesses are registered with the MCA Department of Economic Development. For more information, please contact 613-575-2250.
