MCA PROUDLY SUPPORTS THUNDER’S FOUNDERS CUP RUN

On August 14, 2026, the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne was proud to present the Akwesasne Junior B Thunder with a $5,000 donation to support the team as they compete in the 2026 Founders Cup in Saint John, New Brunswick. 

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne congratulates the Thunder on an incredible season and playoff run that earned them a spot at the National Junior B Lacrosse Championship. Their determination, hard work, and success have given the community much to celebrate, and they have proudly represented Akwesasne every step of the way. 

We wish the players, coaches, staff, and families safe travels and the very best of luck at the Founders Cup. Akwesasne will be cheering them on throughout the tournament, and we look forward to watching them compete on the national stage as they chase a Founders Cup championship.
