YOUR VOTE, YOUR VOICE — REGISTER ON AUGUST 22
With the 2027 MCA General Election now just one year away, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer is encouraging community members to register early and ensure their voter information is up to date.
Whether you are registering for the first time or updating your information after moving to a different district, now is a great time to get on the voters list and be prepared for future elections and referendums.
To help make registration more accessible, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) will host a Voter Registration Event on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Registration will be available at the following locations:
- Peace Tree Mall | 167 International Road, Kawehno:ke
- Angus Mitchell Memorial Building | 15 Akwesasne Street, Kana:takon
- Snye Recreation Parking Lot | 1306 River Road, Tsi Snaihne
Reminders, to register you must be:
- 18 years of age
- A registered member with the Mohawks of Akwesasne
- A resident of the district in which you are voting
- Onkwehonwe
Schedule G (Application to the Voters List) and Schedule H (Declaration of Eligibility) forms will be available at all registration locations. Community members only need to bring:
- Valid government-issued identification
- A bill or document confirming your physical address
Deputy Electoral Officers will be available to assist with completing applications. Please ensure that your application includes a valid physical address and telephone number.
Registering in advance helps ensure you are ready to participate in upcoming elections. Your vote is your voice, and your participation helps strengthen our community and governance.
