PARKS CANADA CONTRIBUTES TO AKWESASNE CONSUMPTION STUDY

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) would like to recognize the ongoing partnership between Akwesasne Conservation and Parks Canada, connecting conservation, research and community through collaborative environmental initiatives.

On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Parks Canada wardens seized waterfowl in the Thousand Islands region. Warden Smith then contacted the MCA Environment Program's Conservation Officer to arrange for the transfer of the birds, which will be used as part of an ongoing environmental consumption study.

MCA appreciates Parks Canada's cooperation in supporting environmental research in Akwesasne and strengthening our shared commitment to conservation.
