JOIN AMPS FOR POLICE WEEK 2026

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service will be recognizing Police Week from May 9–15, 2026. This year’s theme, “Committed to Serve Together,” highlights the importance of strong partnerships within police services, between agencies, alongside first responders, and with the community. These relationships form the foundation of effective crime prevention and public safety.

Police Week is a time to recognize the collective efforts that form the foundation of community safety. Through collaboration, education, and respect, we can build safer, stronger communities for everyone. It’s also an opportunity to thank the dedicated officers, dispatchers, firefighters, EMS, and community members who work hard every day to make Akwesasne a safer place to live.

As part of this year’s initiative, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service is proud to promote its message, “Akwe enska” – “together as one.” This message will be displayed on marked police vehicles and shared throughout the community as a symbol of unity, respect, and partnership. Stickers featuring the message will also be available at community events during the week.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service looks forward to connecting with community members throughout Police Week 2026 and encourages everyone to check out the many events AMPS will be taking part in throughout the week.
