SHARING ART, STORIES & THANKSGIVING SPIRIT AT TSIIONKWANONHSO:TE

The totas at the Tsiionkwanonhso:te Long-Term Care (LTC) facility were delighted to welcome the St. Joes Catholic School Grade 9 Art Class for a truly special day of creativity, connection, and cultural sharing. Students were joined by Katie Francis of Ethereal Evergreen Art & Tattoo, who guided them through this meaningful mural project created especially for the residents of Tsiionkwanonhso:te. 

The students proudly presented beautiful artwork to adorn the halls of the LTC, each piece inspired by the Thanksgiving Address and brought to life through the students’ own understanding, storytelling, and artistic interpretations. Along with their artwork, students shared the story behind their paintings and what each piece represents, making the experience both engaging and heartfelt. 

Following the presentations, students and residents came together for a shared painting session — laughing, creating, and learning from one another. The day wrapped up in the best way possible, with residents and students enjoying a meal together, celebrating new connections and shared memories.

Your ongoing dedication to creating meaningful experiences for residents truly shines. A heartfelt niawenhkó:wa also goes out to Melissa Mader‑Tardif and Katie Francis for bringing this mural project to our residents and creating an opportunity filled with creativity, learning, and joy. And to every student, staff member, helper, and organizer who made the day possible — thank you for sharing your time, talent, and good hearts. 

This was a beautiful example of art bringing generations together and reminding us all of the power of gratitude, community, and creativity!
