WEAVING WELLNESS TOGETHER: LTC STAFF ENJOY HANDS-ON BASKET-MAKING EXPERIENCE

The MCA Department of Health’s Land-Based Healing Program recently hosted a wellness session for staff from Tsiionkwanonhso:te Long-Term Care (LTC) and Iakhihsohtha Lodge, featuring a hands-on basket‑making workshop led by Jared Jock, Travis Goff, and Rahhesere Caldwell of Quills N Baskets.

Throughout the day, participants worked side by side, learning traditional techniques and crafting their own baskets with guidance from the facilitators. The session was filled with laughter, storytelling, and meaningful connections, offering staff a chance to unwind, reconnect, and engage in a culturally grounded wellness activity.

Land-Based Healing would like to extend a heartfelt nia:wen/thank you to the dedicated staff of Tsiionkwanonhso:te Long-Term Care and Iakhihsohtha Lodge for taking the time to participate, and to Quills N Baskets for generously sharing their knowledge and creativity with our amazing LTC teams!
