Thompson Island Cultural Camp

Thompson Island Cultural Camp

Thompson Island Cultural Camp (TICC) is a unique eco-cultural retreat nestled along the banks of Kaniatarowanenneh, the St. Lawrence River. With breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere, the camp offers visitors a chance to reconnect with the land, waters, and traditions of Akwesasne.

Rooted in Kanien’kehá:ka knowledge, TICC hosts a variety of cultural and land-based activities, including canoeing, medicine walks, traditional cooking, and hands-on demonstrations that celebrate our connection to the natural world. The camp’s staff coordinate classes, workshops, and trainings for the community, both during the active season and throughout the off-season.

Accommodations include bunkhouses and private cabins, and group retreats can be arranged with meals prepared on-site in the camp’s spacious kitchen and dining area. TICC is a place to gather, learn, and experience the spirit of Akwesasne in a land-based setting.

Open seasonally and by appointment.
