SLIME, SMILES, AND STORIES AT TSIIONKWANONHSO:TE!
Last week, the halls of the Tsiionkwanonhso:te Long-Term Care (LTC) facility were filled with laughter, joy, and a little bit of slime! 🧼✨
A group of bright and caring Akwesasne youth made a heartwarming visit to our beloved totas, spending the day chatting, giggling, and — yes — teaching them how to make slime!
The elders were all in — kneading, stretching, and marveling at the cool, squishy texture of their creations. One joyful resident exclaimed, “I can’t wait to give my slime to my grandson. I can show him I’m a cool grandma now! I make slime!”
Not only was it fun, but it was also therapeutic — helping to engage hand and finger muscles in a playful way.
The youth cherished the experience just as much, enjoying the stories, wisdom, and warmth of the residents while bonding over a shared activity that bridged generations. đź’ž
A huge nia:wen/thank you to the incredible staff at Tsiionkwanonhso:te for making this magical moment happen and continuing to build meaningful connections between our youth and elders.
