The Detox Facility will have fentanyl testing strips and naloxone kits available for anyone interested, based on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. Fentanyl testing strips (FTS) are an effective method of helping prevent drug overdoses and reducing harm. FTS are small strips of paper that can detect the presence of fentanyl in various kinds of drugs. Naloxone kits are portable pouches containing an opioid antidote that can be administered nasally (inhalant) to revive an unresponsive person who is overdosing.
If you would like more information, or to pick up fentanyl testing strips and naloxone kits, please contact Sahatiha’hará:ne Clinical Supervisor, Bonnie Bradley, at 613-932-5050 ext. 1303.
