2019 Canada Winter Games Seeking Applicants For Indigenous Officials Mentorship Program

The goal of this pilot program is for Indigenous officials from across the country to be mentored by certified technical officials during the next Canada Games, which will be held in Red Deer, Alberta, from February 15 to March 3, 2019.


The sports at the 2019 Canada Games included in this pilot program are archery, women’s hockey and snowboarding.


Interested officials can apply by filling out the form available on the Aboriginal Sport Circle’s website or contact CSSSPNQL/FNQLHSSC​ by email at info@cssspnql.com.

Compliance/Conservation Office Closed From August 13-17

The Akwesasne Justice Department would like to inform the community that the Compliance Officers and the Conservation Officer will be away from the Akwesasne Justice Department office during the week of August 13 – 17.


If you have an emergency dog nuisance, aggressive dog complaint or residency issue, please call the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service at 613-575-2000.  For environmental issues, please call the MCA Environment Program at 613-575-2250 ext. 1039.


If you would like to leave a complaint with Justice Reception, please call 613-575-2250 ext. 2400.  We will ensure the Compliance Officer and/or the Conservation Officer receives your message. One of the officers will be able to respond to you upon their return to the office on Monday, August 20.

Aseshate:ka’te Grief Services will be offering the following groups:




Group 1

When: Mondays (starting on August 20)

Time: 5:30 PM – 8 PM

Group 2

When: Wednesdays (starting on August 22)

Time: 5:30 PM – 8 PM

For those who completed the 6-week program ONLY

When: Thursday, August 23

Time: 5 PM – 9 PM

Where: 498 State Rt. 37, Suite 4 – J&J Insurance (Hogansburg)


All materials are provided and groups are free of charge to Akwesasronon!
