CALL OUT FOR ELDERS COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is seeking three (3) Elders Council Representatives to help guide our community with wisdom, respect, and a strong voice for the future.
If you are 60 years or older, live in Kawehno:ke, Kana:takon, or Tsi Snaihne, and want to help shape decisions that matter — we encourage you to step forward.
Elders Council members are appointed for a two- to three-year term. In this role, you’ll work closely with Council to share ideas, offer insight, and make recommendations on key community issues. Members are also expected to serve as positive role models, support both youth and elder initiatives, and meet with the Grand Chief and Council as needed.
If you’re ready to help shape Akwesasne’s path forward, we invite you to apply.
Please submit a letter of interest and resume to Kuyra Chaussi at kuyra.chaussi@akwesasne.ca, or drop it off at the Mohawk Government Offices, 12 Akwesasne Street, Kana:takon (Admin #1 Building). Positions will remain open until filled.
