AKWESASNE MOHAWK POLICE SEIZE OVER 11 LBS. OF CANNABIS

On October 21, 2021, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Marine Unit (SAVE) was conducting proactive marine patrols on the St. Lawrence River monitoring boating activity.

 

At 11:25 P.M., police observed a vessel traveling on St. Lawrence River attend a landing on Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island). A person was observed walking from behind a structure carrying bags and entered the vessel.

 

As the vessel departed the landing, police maintained visual surveillance and attempted to stop the vessel as it entered the Snye channel, by activating the emergency equipment. The vessel failed to stop and continued to a private landing where both individuals fled on foot. Police quickly responded and placed both individuals under arrest. A search of the vessel revealed 11.6 lbs. of packaged cannabis.

 

Louis J. Adams, age 33, of Akwesasne currently faces the alleged charge of Possession for the Purpose of Distribution of illicit cannabis. He was held in custody for an outstanding arrest warrant.  

 

Bradley N. Davis, age 39, of Cornwall currently faces the alleged charge of Possession for the Purpose of Distribution of illicit cannabis.
