AKWESASNE MOHAWK POLICE SERVICE PREPARE FOR BACK TO SCHOOL SAFETY

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) will be out patrolling school zones across the northern portion of Akwesasne in order to remind drivers school is back in session.

Officers will be paying close attention to school zones, speed limits, child restraint systems, school bus safety, aggressive driving and distracted driving concerns. In addition, officers will be conducting traffic control as COVID-19 has caused some changes, including staggered drop off times and locations.

Police are asking motorist to plan ahead and leave early for your commute to accommodate school bus stops and traffic backups.
