AKWESASNE MOHAWK POLICE SERVICE PREPARE FOR CRIME PREVENTION WEEK

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service is kicking off Crime Prevention Week from November 7-13, 2021. The goal of Crime Prevention Week is to promote safety in our community and learn to avoid becoming a victim of crime. The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us the value of making sure our homes, neighbourhoods, schools, and places of businesses are safe.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service will be promoting the “Lock it or Lose it” Campaign throughout the Canadian portion of Akwesasne. Police officers will examine parked vehicles to confirm they are locked and no valuables have been left in plain view. Police will place a notice on the vehicle indicating what safety precautions were neglected and offer simple prevention tips for drivers to protect their vehicles against theft. The notices also congratulate drivers who have secured their vehicle and documents properly.

The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service will also be dropping off gift bags at our local Senior Centers with important information on Frauds, and Elders Abuse Awareness.
