The Akwesasne Healing Centre will be hosting a Narcan and drug awareness training on August 6, 2021 at 2 p.m. The training is open to anyone and will take place at the AHC (510 Second St. E, Cornwall, ON). AKWESASNE OFFERING SUPPORT TO DEER LAKE WILDFIRE EVACUEES

More than 500 wildfire evacuees from the Deer Lake First Nation in northwestern Ontario have been relocated to NAV Centre in Cornwall, Ontario, with no certainty as to when they can return home.  The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is coordinating assistance from several Akwesasne community programs to make the evacuees’ stay more hospitable.
