CHALK THE WALK & HAVE THE TALK FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION AWARENESS MONTH

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness on this stigmatized, and often taboo, topic. In addition to shifting public perception, we use this month to spread hope and vital information to people affected by suicide. Our goal is ensuring that employees, community members, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.

This year, we are doing something a little bit different with an event involving sidewalk art to bring suicide awareness to the community. Chalk the Walk, Have the Talk, which is a community-wide awareness project in observance of World Suicide Prevention Day.

September 10th marks WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY.

From September 10 to 20 all community members are encouraged to get outside and chalk your walks on the pavement and sidewalks with messages of hope, inspiration, and resilience to shine a light on suicide awareness and prevention.

Please share your creativity and post all photo entries here on this original post. All photo entries submitted will be entered for a chance to win a $100 Wal-Mart Gift card.
