CHILD’S RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES LAW – NEW DATE FOR COMMUNITY INPUT SESSION

As a result of the Legislative Development Priorities Survey (completed in May 2022), Akwesasronon identified a new law to be created for the community: the Child’s Rights & Responsibilities Law.

 

A Working Task Group has been created for this law, along with a work plan and schedule for its legislative development. The WTG would like to meet with the community to gather their insight, knowledge, and experience with regard to child welfare. Sessions have already been held in Kana:takon and Tsi Snaihne. The meeting on Kawehno:ke was postponed, and has now been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 31 at the Kawehno:ke Recreation from 6 – 8 p.m.
