CHP NOTIFYING COMMUNITY OF DELAY IN RESPONSE TO PHONE CALLS

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Community Health Program (CHP) is notifying the community that, due to recent high call volume and staff shortage, there could be a 2-3 day wait period in response to phone calls and messages. We apologize for these delays and thank you for your understanding as we work through these challenges.

If a community member has tested positive for COVID-19 via a rapid antigen or rapid molecular test, CHP staff is advising community members to begin their isolation period immediately, and consider yourself COVID-19 positive. Members of a positive persons’ household must also begin their isolation period as well.

Community members who have tested positive via rapid test can contact the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) at 613-575-5005, 613-575-2331, or 613-575-2341 ext. 3708. The EOC will record your positive test and advise on your next course of action.

Any community members who are in isolation, and have no assistance from friends or family in obtaining necessities and supplies during their isolation period, can contact the Community in Quarantine Program at 613-936-1548 during regular business hours (M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.), or 800-480-4208 after hours or on weekends/holidays. If staff are unavailable at either phone number, leave a message and staff will return your call as soon as possible.
