COCAINE INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN THREE ARRESTS

On Saturday April 3, 2021, the Joint Investigation Team of the Akwesasne Mohawk Police concluded an investigation into a cocaine trafficking operation in the District of Kana:takon (St. Regis). The investigation resulted in the arrest of two men and one female, all are residents of Akwesasne.  

At approximately 7:00 PM, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services executed two search warrants simultaneously at two separate Kana:takon homes. Police immediately closed off a portion of Third Street due to the close proximity of the two locations until the search concluded.   

The searches resulted in the seizure of cocaine, mixed currency and packaging materials, all relevant items to a drug trafficking investigation. Police also seized a firearm and ammunition at one of the residences.  

The investigation resulted in the culmination of three charged persons who cannot be identified until formal charges are presented in the Valleyfield court. All three subjects have been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds obtained by crime. One subject was additionally charged with careless storage of a firearm.  

All three subjects were released by police to appear in the Valleyfield court at a later date.
