DCSS ANNOUNCES FAMILY SUSTAINABILITY CHEQUES TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO HEADS OF HOUSEHOLD IN THE COMMUNITY

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Community & Social Services (DCSS) is announcing that the “Family Sustainability” funds (cheques) will be provided to community members in the northern portion of Akwesasne. The cheque will be issued to the “Head of Household” based on the most recent Fuel Allotment list, which now includes Heads of Household that were missed during the initial Fuel Distribution. Akwesasronon families residing in Cornwall will also be eligible to receive the Family Sustainability cheque.

 

FAMILY SUSTAINABILITY CHEQUE DISTRIBUTION TIMES AND LOCATIONS

A’nowara’ko:wa Arena – April 3rd @ 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
St. Regis Recreation Center – April 4th @ 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Tsi Snaihne Recreation Center – April 5th @ 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Please note: ID and signatures will be required.

 

Pick-up of checks will be done via a drive-thru style service at each location. Cheques are able to be picked up by the Head of Household ONLY. You will be unable to pick up a cheque for anyone else. Delivery of cheques will be made available for elders and for community members who are lacking transportation. If you are unable to pick up your cheque on the distribution date, arrangements can be made for pick-up at the Community Support Program (CSP) office in Kanonhkwa’tsheri:io.
