DEPT. OF HEALTH URGES CONTINUATION OF HEALTH CHECKS

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Dept. of Health is urging community members to prioritize their health and medical visits despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Delaying medical appointments or check-ups could lead to more serious medical conditions.  Please be sure to keep your appointments with specialists and attend medical appointments such as hospital MRI’s, Ultrasounds, etc.  This will ensure that your health continues to receive proper attention.  These appointments should not be cancelled or avoided due to the pandemic.

Please contact one of our medical clinics for appointments or instructions.  If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please go to your nearest Emergency Room.

MCA’s two medical clinics currently book patients for phone appointments, and in some cases in person visits are scheduled. Please contact the Akwesasne Medical Clinic (St. Regis/Kana:takon) at 613-575-2341 or the Kawehno:ke Medical Clinic (Cornwall Island) at 613-932-5808.

Please check on elders who may need reminders or assistance regarding their health appointments.
