DOH WELCOMES DR. DARADICH TO AKWESASNE MEDICAL CLINIC

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Health (DOH) would like to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Daradich. Dr. Daradich will be seeing patients in the Akwesasne Medical Clinic (AMC) located in the Kanonhkwa’tsheri:io Health Facility starting on April 11, 2024. As a family physician, Dr. Daradich can see any patient, from babies to the elderly.

 

Dr. Daradich is currently working as a family physician at the Kateri Memorial Hospital in the Kahnawà:ke Mohawk Territory. She works in outpatient clinics, long-term care and in the short-stay unit. 

 

Dr. Daradich earned her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Toronto, then completed her post-doctoral fellowship in Global Sea-Level and Climate Change, where she modelled past and future land emergence in the James Bay Region and how this would impact land treaty rights. Before moving to Montreal to pursue medical studies at McGill University, she was a Professor of Physics at CEGEP Champlain St.-Lawrence in Quebec City. 

 

Dr. Daradich has experience working in collaboration with communities in Nunavik in the area of Public Health and co-created an Indigenous health podcast to help medical students better understand patient experiences. Dr. Daradich has thoroughly enjoyed working in the Kahnawà:ke community and gratefully welcomes the opportunity to work with the community of Akwesasne.
