DEPT. OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RFQ: EV CHARGING STATION INSTALLATION

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Economic Development is requesting quotes from contractors for the installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at the following locations:

  1. Peace Tree Trade Center (Akwesasne, ON)
  2. Kanonhkwa’tsheri:io Health Facility (Akwesasne, QC)

 

Quotes are due by 2:00 p.m. on May 25, 2022.

 

RESPONDING TO THIS REQUEST FOR QUOTES. Quotes may be hand-delivered to the MCA Department of Economic Development Office at 167 International Road, Unit #3, Akwesasne, ON. Emailed quotes will be accepted if they are emailed to ecdev@akwesasne.ca and received by the deadline stated above.

 

MCA VACCINATION POLICY. As per the MCA Vaccination Policy, all contractors, sub-contractors, employees etc. must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

 

SCOPE OF WORK. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials and perform all Work as shown on attached Drawing 1 and 2 for the four (4) Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station Installation. Work shall include, but is not limited to installation of new infrastructure, concrete slab, cabinet, one (1) bollard per charging station, install of two (2) already purchased Flo Core+ Dual Level 2 Charging Stations and the purchase and install of two (2) Flo Smart DC Level 3 Charging Stations at 2 MCA locations: 1. Peace Tree Trade Center, Akwesasne ON (Drawing 1); contractor is encouraged to consult with Cornwall Electric, AND 2. Kanonhkwa’tsheri:io Health Facility, Akwesasne QC (Drawing 2); contractor is encouraged to consult with Hydro Quebec. All work shall be in accordance with Ontario and Quebec standards.

 

COMPLETION TIME FOR THE WORK. The Contractor must have the four (4) EV Charging Stations installed no later than March 1, 2023. We do encourage the work to be completed as soon as possible.

 

TENDER PACKET/SITE INSPECTION. Contact Troy Thompson (613-575-2250 or troy.thompson@akwesasne.ca) for a project packet, site visit(s) and/or questions. Bidders are encouraged to visit the Project sites prior to submitting a quote for this Work.

 

QUALITY OF WORK. The Contractor shall employ workers and craftspeople qualified in the necessary trades in Ontario and Quebec. All Work shall conform to the drawings and specifications, industry standards and practices, and the manufacturer’s requirements. The Contractor shall be responsible for the supervision and control of all Work; the safety of the workers; and assurance that the quality of Work and character of workers conform to all applicable laws and regulations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS. Interested parties must demonstrate:

  • An understanding of and compliance with MCA Construction and Safety Guidelines
  • For an Indigenous General Contractor confirmation of bonding is required
  • Ability to procure and maintain “All Risk and Liability Insurance ($2M Minimum)” in accordance with General Conditions
  • Be able to furnish clearance from Workers Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) or (CSST)
  • Experience and Qualifications with a minimum of 3 references within the past five (5) years

 

RETURNABLES. The Contractor shall provide a completed “As-Built” drawings and all other related documents, both hard copy and digital file to the MCA upon completion of the project.
