FIRST OF THE YEAR’S HOLIDAY DINNERS HELD IN KANA:TAKON
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne hosted the first of three holiday dinners tonight in the district of Kana.takon (St. Regis) at the St. Regis Recreation Centre. The dinners are held annually as a way to share kindness and generosity during the holiday season and for Council to have the opportunity to visit face to face with community members and serve them.
Community members are served a turkey dinner and have a chance at each dinner to win one of 7 $100 gift cards along with a grand prize basket.
The second dinner will be held next week, Thursday, Dec. 12th, at the Snye Recreation Centre, followed by the third and final dinner on Dec. 18th on Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island) at the Kawehno:ke Recreation Centre.
Nia:wen to the Dept. of Community and Social Services and the Wholistic Health and Wellness Program for sponsoring the event and prizes and nia:wen to Second Generation Catering for the delicious meal and biodegradable products.
