MCA EXTENDS CONDOLENCES TO FAMILY OF LONGTIME EMPLOYEE WINONA “NONI” TARBELL

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is extending its deepest sympathies to the family of Winona “Noni” Tarbell, a 30-year employee of MCA who passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

Noni first joined MCA in 1992 in the Dept. of Housing holding various positions over twenty years, including executive assistant, program manager and acting director.  She later held positions in the Dept. of Health and Community Health Program before joining Human Resources in 2016.

Noni’s coworkers remember her as “having the biggest heart.” She cared deeply about her community.

“Noni always had the biggest smile,” recalled one co-worker.  “She would always stop what she was doing to listen, and she always made you feel like what you had to say was important. She will be missed so much.”

On behalf of MCA and all who worked with Noni, we offer our condolences to her loved ones and share in their grief. Niawenhkó:wa to Noni for her dedication to her work and the community of Akwesasne.
