MCA LAND-BASED HEALING PROGRAM HOSTS CLAY POTTERY WORKSHOP

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s (MCA) Land-Based Healing Program hosted a Clay Pottery Workshop on December 6, 2023. The workshop was hosted by Akwesasronon potter Nihahsenna’a Peters.

Workshop attendees were provided with clay, tools, and instruction on how to design their clay pots. Nihahsenna’a also provided the attendees with the historical significance of clay pots to Haudenosaunee culture. Attendees were also treated to a lunch of traditional corn soup and fry bread, provided by local caterer, Donna “Turk” Rockwell.

Nia:wen/Thank you to Nihahenna’a for providing the knowledge, history, and instruction to our attendees.
