MCA REQUESTS SNYE & ST. REGIS RESIDENTS’ ASSISTANCE WITH WATER CONSERVATION EFFORTS

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Water/Wastewater Program is working to locate a leak in the water line within the districts of Tsi Snaihne and Kana:takon. This unidentified leak has caused issues in keeping up with water demand, which can create further problems during power outages, snow storms, and cold weather.

As our team works to rectify the issue as quickly as possible, we request the assistance of the community with conserving water. Tsi Snaihne and Kana:takon residents are asked the refrain from using household water to maintain outdoor rinks and running sink taps as a prevention method for frozen pipes. We also encourage community members to check on vacant, abandoned, or unused buildings for burst pipes.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email water@akwesasne.ca or contact John Adams at 518-651-0968 or 518-404-2252 (on-call pager).
