MOHAWK COUNCIL TO HOST INFORMATION SESSION ON COMMUNITY POLICING

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) has received inquiries from the community regarding policing in Akwesasne. In response, the MCA will be hosting a live Facebook information session on policing in Akwesasne to share information with the entire community.

Grand Chief Abram Benedict and Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) Chief of Police Shawn Dulude will co-host the meeting and will be providing information about AMPS processes, complaints, policies, and responsibilities for policing in the community.

Questions can be e-mailed ahead of time to meetings@akwesasne.ca and will also be taken live via Facebook during the session.

The meeting will take place on the MCA Facebook Page on August 20, 2020 at 6 p.m. You must have a Facebook account to view the live video; however, it will be shared on the MCA YouTube channel and website after the meeting as well.

The community is encouraged to send in questions and join us to learn more about policing in Akwesasne.
