NATIONAL ADDICTIONS AWARENESS WEEK — SOFT SIGNS OF PROBLEM GAMBLING

Gambling problems can happen to anyone from any walk of life. Your gambling goes from a fun, harmless diversion to an unhealthy obsession with serious consequences. Whether you bet on sports, scratch cards, roulette, poker, or slots—in a casino, at the track, or online—a gambling problem can strain your relationships, interfere with work, and lead to financial disaster.

November 25 – December 1 is National Addictions Awareness Week — end the stigma by learning more about the soft signs of problem gambling. A gambling addiction or problem is often associated with other behaviour or mood disorders. Many problem gamblers also suffer from substance abuse issues, unmanaged ADHD, stress, depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder.

If any of the soft signs have impacted you or a loved one, don’t hesitate to seek help! Contact the MCA Wholistic Health & Wellness Program at 613-575-2341 ext. 3115.
