ONTARIO EXPANDS ELIGIBILITY FOR COVID-19 BOOSTERS TO ALL 18+ AND AT THREE MONTH INTERVAL

To protect the progress in the fight against COVID-19, and safeguard the province’s hospitals and intensive care units (ICUs), with a rapidly spreading Omicron variant, the Ontario government is accelerating its booster rollout by expanding eligibility to all individuals aged 18 and over, as well as shortening the interval to three (3) months (prior interval was six (6) months) following an individual’s second dose.

Effective today, Monday, December 20, 2021, individuals aged 18 and over will be eligible to schedule their booster dose appointments through the MCA’s Community Health Program. MCA’s non-indigenous staff will also be eligible to book their booster appointment through Community Health’s scheduled third dose clinic. Appointments will be booked three months (84 days) after a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (Moderna or Pfizer).

The Community Health Program will be holding a third dose vaccine clinic Monday, December 20th at the St. Regis Recreation Center from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Appointments are not required, but encouraged. Walk-ins will be welcome.

If you have any questions or want to schedule an appointment for one of the upcoming vaccine clinics, please contact the Community Health Program at 613-575-2341 ext. 3220.
