THE ONTARIO FIRST NATIONS YOUNG PEOPLE’S COUNCIL AND THE CHIEFS OF ONTARIO PRESENT: YOUTH COVID-19 TOWN HALL

Join the Ontario First Nations Young People’s Council and the Chiefs of Ontario on December 16, 2020, for a two-hour discussion with other First Nations youth and leadership across Ontario, as they share their stories of navigating the pandemic and staying connected.

This Youth COVID-19 Town Hall will be a fun, interactive, safe space where youth can come together to learn about COVID-19, create awareness about stopping the spread within your community, and how other First Nations youth are coping. Please feel free to bring your experiences and stories and any questions you may have.

We are also seeking four youths to share their unique stories and experiences while navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. We are hoping to secure one speaker from each of the four areas:

  • Frontline Workers
  • Mental Health and Addictions during COVID-19
  • Stigma and Testing Positive for COVID-19
  • Land-based Activities/Healing during COVID-19

For those looking to participate or who would like to express interest in participating on the youth panel, please contact Megan Logan at megan.logan@coo.org. The deadline for those looking to participate on the youth panel is December 7, 2020, by 5 p.m.
