WELDER KYLE THOMPSON PRESENTS ART TO COMMUNITY ELDERS

On Wednesday, October 4, the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne hosted an art unveiling at the Tri-District Elders Lodge on Kawehno:ke. The MCA welcomed Kyle Thompson, a Cornwall resident, to Akwesasne as Kyle recently reached out to the organization wanting to donate a piece of his artwork to the Mohawks of Akwesasne. The Tri-District graciously accepted the artwork.

Kyle Thompson is an accomplished welder and created a bear that not only represents his trademark, but also represents a symbol of protection. In the spirit of reconciliation and the belief that every child matters, the bear has been donated to the community and can be viewed at the Tri-District Elders Lodge.

We would like to say nia:wen/thank you to Kyle for his beautiful work, along with his support for the community and Every Child Matters movement. This donation is a genuine show of allyship, which is a crucial part of our journey towards truth and reconciliation.
