On May 20, 2020, the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Marine Unit (SAVE) were conducting pro-active marine patrols on the St. Lawrence River monitoring boating activity.

At 12:48 AM, police observed a large white speedboat traveling on the St. Lawrence River without navigation equipment displayed. Police followed the vessel to a private landing in Tsi Snaihne (Snye) and attempted to conduct a stop by activating the emergency lights. The operator immediately loaded the vessel onto a trailer and departed the area.

Uniform patrol unit intercepted the pick-up truck and vessel behind a private residence. The operator of the vessel attempted the block the driveway with a second vehicle not allowing police to investigate the incident.

Police searched the vessel and located 80 lbs. Cannabis Marihuana. The vessel, pick-up truck, and cannabis marihuana were seized as a result of the investigation. Police also located a license plate attached to the pick-up truck that was reported stolen.

Joshua Isaac Jock, 28, of Akwesasne currently faces the alleged charges of Flight from Police, Obstruct Police, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000, Distribution of Illicit Cannabis, and Possession for the Purpose of Distribution of Cannabis.
