AKWESASNE MEDICAL CLINIC ANNOUNCES HOME VISITS FOR BLOOD WORK

The Akwesasne Medical Clinic (AMC) is notifying the community that home visits for blood work appointments are available. Blood work home visits are being scheduled for Fridays, effective immediately.

To qualify for a home visit, community members must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a home visit patient of Dr. Horn or Dr. Wysote
  • On physician-ordered bed rest, low mobility, or currently too ill to leave your residence
  • Lack of assistance with transportation or mobility (no family/friends to assist with getting into or out of your vehicle)
  • Be a resident of either Kanata:kon or Tsi Snaihne Districts (AMC nursing staff are unable to provide this service for Kawehno:ke and Stateside residents)

When making an appointment for a blood work home visit, please ensure your house number is clearly marked and visible, and in a good sight line for the nursing staff completing the home visits. Failure to have clearly marked and visible house numbers will result in nursing staff moving on to the next appointment, and the patient being required to reschedule. Nursing staff whom are completing blood work home visits will be wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

To schedule a home visit for blood work, please contact Katie Deer at the Akwesasne Medical Clinic at 613-575-2341 ext. 3207.
