BOIL WATER ADVISORY TO REMAIN IN EFFECT ON KAWEHNO:KE

UPDATE: 12:00 P.M.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS: The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s, DIHE, Water/Wastewater Program is notifying residents of Kawehno:ke/Cornwall Island that the water-main break on Kawehno:ke has since been restored. However, the Boil Water Advisory will stay in effect until the water tests have been cleared and deemed safe.

Residents must continue to boil their water for consumption purposes until the boil water advisory has been lifted. Only boiled, treated water or an alternate water source (i.e. bottled water) should be used for drinking, preparing food, washing foods, or brushing your teeth.

We will notify the community when normal water usage can resume.

We would like to thank our local fire crew, Howie Jock Excavation, Lazores construction, and Cory Tarbell from our housing division for helping out yesterday as we were able to restore services in a timely manner.
